You can stick a fork in the 2005 Colorado duck and goose season this one is done! What an incredible season it was. Goose hunters averaged just a few percentage points under limits for the entire season and duck hunters averaged very close to four birds per gun per day. You can go to our web-site and click on the Season Stats Page for exact harvest details for the 2005 season. After enduring some sub-zero temps in mid December the only real weather produced on the Front Range was wind. The windy conditions were a nuisance to the guides and hunters from time to time but it didn’t seam to bother the geese in the least. They hung around in record numbers the entire season and we had excellent hunting through the last day. Once again if you go to the web site and can click on the Photo Gallery you’ll see a ton of success photos taken throughout the season. There’s a good chance your picture will be there somewhere! We took a harder swing at the ducks this year than in years past and had excellent results. We’re adding a few more prime duck spots for the 2006 season in order to keep up with the increased demand. Ducks appear to be on the upswing in Colorado, based on harvest results we experienced this season and we want to take full advantage if it next season.

A Special Thanks goes out to all of you from all of us at Stillwater Outfitters. We very much appreciate those of you that hunted and supported us throughout the 2005 Season. We look forward to seeing all of you again next season!!!!

With the waterfowl season in the bag our attention will soon be shifting to springtime activities, Turkey Hunting and Fishing. Our turkey hunts in Colorado are booked full and we only have eight slots available at our lodge in Kansas. If you want a get away from it all, first class turkey hunting experience, we have it. The Long Branch Creek Lodge is our base of operation. We have fourteen miles of creek bottoms and numerous wood lots loaded with big gobblers all within a few minutes drive from the lodge. We’re offering gourmet meals prepared by Steve’s Catering and guarantee you won’t go home hungry. Give us a call or send an email and we’ll get you all the info you’ll need to get set up.

For those of you looking to wet a line this spring and summer we’ve have the spots. Once again we’re offering fully guided bass and crappie fishing, all private water. We’ll provide the tackle all you have to do is show up. You’ll fish from tournament style bass boats with guides that know the water and know how to catch em. The best time to book a crappie trip would be the end of March through the middle of May. The best bass fishing is from mid April through July. This is a great way to get your kids, grandkids, spouse, clients, and you on an action packed day of fishing. Call or email for more details and available dates.

A final note, for those of you in the Phoenix area we’ll be at the Arizona State Fair Grounds March 10-11-12 2006 for the International Sportsman’s Expo and we’ll be in Salt Lake at the South Towne Exposition Center March 16 thru19 2006 for the Doug Miller International Sportsman’s Expo. Hope to see you there!
