KANSAS TURKEY
The 2006 Spring Turkey season is in the books and what a season it was! We went 100%. That’s right 100%!!! Everyone that hunted with us at our Long Branch Lodge in Kansas this spring took a gobbler home with em. We go into every season hoping for that kind of success, but it’s an uphill challenge to put all the pieces together for those kinds of results. The addition of seven more miles of creek bottom and the number birds in the area are a couple of the biggest reasons for our success. A lot of hard work and very little sleep for about seven weeks are a couple other very critical factors. With all the hard work and lack of sleep we still hated to see this season end. Spring Turkey hunting is one of the great opportunities that we will continue to look forward to season after season. Every year we get more familiar with the area and we continue to acquire more property in order to increase our opportunities and our odds for success. We’re in the process of adding another 15 miles plus of creek bottom in Nebraska for next season (the Nebraska border is only four miles from the lodge). We’ll continue to offer our standard three day one bird hunt and we’ll be adding a four day two bird package in 2007. We’re already getting close to full for the 2007 Spring Turkey Season, if you want us to reserve your spot for next season contact us ASAP.

NEW FOR 2007….KANSAS / NEBRASKA DEER
Along with the Turkey hunting that’s available at the Long Branch Lodge, in 2007 Stillwater Outfitters will be offering archery, black powder, & rifle hunting for Whitetail Deer in Kansas and Nebraska and Mule Deer hunting in Nebraska. In a short time we’ll have close to 40 miles of creek bottom under our control in Kansas and Nebraska. We’ll have as many as 50 tree stands and blinds distributed in strategic locations. This area has become one of the primer deer hunting destinations in the US. I can tell you from first hand experience that the deer numbers are unbelievable. One evening while driving around with one of our area land owners, looking at turkey properties, we counted over 150 deer in about forty five minutes. Even though there’s not a 200 class buck around every corner the chance for a very nice buck in the 140 to 170 class is very real and a trophy of a lifetime is not out of the question. We plan to limit the total number of archery, black powder & rifle hunters for both states to 20 hunters. Tags for residents and non-residents are an issue and will need to be dealt with early in 2007. All tags in Kansas are by draw ONLY. We’ll have, on a very limited basis, some transferable tags for Kansas. Archery and black powder tags in Nebraska are available over the counter and rifle tags are draw ONLY for non-residents. Give us a call or send an email for more information.

Go FISHIN!!! Bass &Crappie!!!
The bass and crappie bite is on right now! There’s a long summer ahead and what a way to fill some of it than on a boat casting for some fat bass and crappies. Jeff and Tyler are chompin to get you on the water for some pole bendin excitement. We fish private lakes, provide all the gear, & refreshments. All you have to do is get there. Send the kids, get your visiting in-laws out of the house, or treat yourself to a day on the water. The bass are running from two to five pounds and the crappie from one to two pounds and there’s “lots of em”.

ARGENTINA 2006
There’s still time to get on board for the Argentina Duck & Goose Hunt. I still have two spots available. We’ll depart July 8th 2006 and return July 16th 2006. Give me a call or send an email for more details.

Colorado Ducks & Geese
Prime dates for the 2006 duck and goose season are booking fast. June is our busiest month for early waterfowl bookings, don’t miss out, and get your dates on the calendar now! For those of you looking to lease a pit or blind for the season July is the month. We’ve been out, like always, networking and acquiring new properties in prime areas for the upcoming season. We have several new farms in our guide-farm and sub-lease inventory for 2006.
